Plan Your Visit to the Saadian Tombs
The Saadian Tombs are open daily from 9:00am to 4:45pm on Rue de la Kasbah, a fifteen-minute walk south of Jemaa el-Fnaa. Most visits take 20 to 30 minutes; arrive at opening to avoid the queue that builds through the single-file entrance passage.

Cats, Storks, and a Living Garden
The garden courtyard is planted with flowering shrubs and is home to a resident colony of cats that nap freely among the tiled headstones, plus storks that nest and clatter their bills along the rampart walls above.
They're part of the site's daily life, not a curated display — keep a respectful distance and don't feed them.
Practical Tips
Dress code
As a historic mausoleum beside an active mosque, modest dress is expected: shoulders and knees covered, nothing overly sheer. There's no head-covering requirement to enter the tombs themselves.
Accessibility
The entrance passage is narrow and uneven underfoot, with a few steps and no ramp; wheelchair and stroller access is difficult. The garden courtyard itself is flatter and easier to navigate.
Photography
Photography is generally permitted in the garden and chamber openings; tripods and flash near the marble columns are discouraged out of respect for the site and other visitors.
